The open hole is at the surface 1000m x 400m and 500m deep. This represents a volume of approximately 130 million cubic meters, which could contain 23 of the NASA Vehicle Assembly Buildings at the Kennedy Space Center, designed for the vertical assembly of the Saturn V rocket.
