Liatinden - Lurøy kommune

Until 2002, the Bratland antenna from the OMEGA navigation system spanned 3500 meters across the fjord between Liatinden and Aldra island. OMEGA used eight very low frequency transmitter stations around the world (Norway, Hawaii, North Dakota, Réunion, Argentina, Australia, Japan, and Trinidad (later Liberia)) and was operational between 1971 and 1997, achieving a 7.5 km accuracy when fixing a position.
