HS Orka hf. geothermal power plant
The steam for this 100 MW power plant is supplied by a geothermal reservoir at the spreading zone of the North American and Euro-Asian plates. The production wells are 2000 meters deep. The sea water of the Atlantic ocean, pumped at around 4000 liters per second, cools down the condensers.
