Erdene Zuu Monastery
The monastery of Erdene Zuu has partially avoided the destruction of all Buddhist temples ordered from 1939 under the communist rule. Its construction started in 1585 on the ruins of Karakorum, a capital of the Mongol Empire in the 13th century.
