Maluti mountains of Lesotho
Some 30 km further on the A1 mountain highway, riddled with potholes, can be found the Letšeng, the world's highest diamond mine. The mine, 30% owned by the King of Lesotho, produces few but huge diamonds. Since it was reopened in 2004, 4 of the 20 largest white diamonds ever recorded were recovered.
